* Due to reorganization and COVID-19 we’re currently closed for walk-in services *

Once reorganization, funding, and the health orders are lifted, our services will more than likely be a combination of in-person and virtual casework by-appointments. Walk-ins will be a process to provide basic information and to schedule appointments.

USDA Commodities Distribution

USDA Commodities Distribution

Since 1991, our partnership with the Imperial Valley Food Bank, allows SEMC to provide USDA Commodities Distribution and provide families with access to healthy, diversified food. By helping alleviate these immediate needs, SEMC also gains the opportunity to offer training, education, additional emergency and social service support to improve a families socio-economic status and overall wellness. SEMC provides USDA Commodities Distribution to an average of 330 families per month.

Eligible families in the Northwest Region of El Centro can register at the center Monday through Thursday from 9am-2pm.  Eligibility is based on income and family size.

Distribution occurs on the following days:

2nd Thursday of each month for Senior Citizens and their caregivers, from 7am-11am.

Friday of each month for everyone else, from 7am-11am.
