Once reorganization, funding, and the health orders are lifted, our services will more than likely be a combination of in-person and virtual casework by-appointments. Walk-ins will be a process to provide basic information and to schedule appointments.

Food Program Changes: We’re no longer a distribution site for IV Food Bank’s USDA Commodities program

* We Observe Major Holidays, Summer & Winter Breaks *

* NO MORE EFSP FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL/UTILITIES ASSISTANCE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE *

Emergency Clothing - Sisters Closet

Emergency Clothing - Sisters Closet

SEMC receives donations from the local professional community and individuals to support the clothing needs of families who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness, individuals seeking employment, and students returning to school.

Sisters Closet (a clothing boutique), accepts gently worn clothing for families, professional attire for job seekers, as well as school uniforms and school supplies for students.

We do not have the capacity to accept electronics, appliances or household items.

Sisters Closet is managed by our dedicated volunteers, Monday through Thursday from 9am-2pm.  We do not sell clothes to our participants, however, monetary donations are welcome.  Any monetary donations received for clothing are applied towards our Senior Citizen Activities and Volunteer Appreciation Program.

Eligibility is based on income, family size and emergency need.  For eligibility, individuals must provide:

  • proof of income

  • proof of residency

  • photo ID

  • OR a referral from a partner agency
