Once reorganization, funding, and the health orders are lifted, our services will more than likely be a combination of in-person and virtual casework by-appointments. Walk-ins will be a process to provide basic information and to schedule appointments.

Programs

Programs

SEMC works hard to bring access to programs and services that assists families in improving health, wellness and educational needs. We have developed our Emergency Services Program to offer assistance with Food, Clothing and Rent/Utilities to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through our Emergency Food Pantry, the USDA Commmodities Distribution, the Emergency Food and Shelter Program and our very own Sister's Closet. It is through these programs, that we can help families transition from a state of emergency to a state of self sufficiency.

Application and Translation Services
SEMC is aware of the many challenges families face with correspondence due to language barriers. As a result, SEMC staff and volunteers assist families and individuals to read and respond to their correspondence, and complete application forms. SEMC assists electricity customers to apply for a discount under the Imperial Irrigation District’s-Residential Energy Assistance Program (REAP).  SEMC also assists individuals to apply for glasses through the New EYES for those in Need program.

Other SEMC Program Activities include:
AL-ANON Weekly Meetings
ZUMBA Fitness Classes
English Conversational Groups
Computer Lab Days
Senior Citizen Weekly Activities
Thanksgiving-Turkey Run with ABATE Local #38
Christmas Toy Drive with Toys for Tots
Easter Ham and Potatos with United Way of Imperial County
